We at Associates in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, as well as other Pediatricians in Baton Rouge have noticed that for the past 3-4 weeks there has been a large increase in the number of Influenza (The Flu) cases. Many of these have also had Strep Throat at the same time. Most children with The Flu are likely to be out of school for about 5-7 days. While we can only treat the symptoms of The Flu, we can treat and cure Strep Throat with an antibiotic. If your child has fever, nasal symptoms, nausea, vomiting, aches, fatigue and/or sore throats , please make an appointment as soon as possible.
